Sharon Rosa Melton, 55, of Rensselaer, died Thursday, June 5, 2003 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette.

She was born at Jasper County on December 7, 1947, to Herbert Jr. and Alice Louise Mitchell Melton.

She was a 1965 graduate of North White High School.

She was a life long resident of the Monon community and had lived in the Lee area.

She was employed at Bryan Manufacturing for five years and was employed at Northway Products in Rensselaer for 23 years.

She was a member of the former Lee United Methodist Church.

She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Eagles Lodge, Rensselaer.

Survivors include her mother, Alice Louise Mitchell Melton of Rensselaer; a brother, Herbert Jeffrey (Julia) Melton of Medaryville; sisters, Karen (Russell) Morris, Joan (Marvin) Jeffrey and Cathy (Robert) Walker, all of Rensselaer and her fiance, Raymond Anderson of Rensselaer.

Funeral services were Friday at Kellogg Funeral Home in Monon with Pastor Tom Bennett and Pastor Russell Morris officiating.
