Edna Louise Meeker, 82 of John Knox Village, Lee's Summit, Missouri died Friday, September 28, 2001 at John Knox Village.
She was born March 1, 1919 in Monon, the daughter of Roy D. and Ruth VanVoorst Fisher.
She was a former resident of Wolcott and Francesville, moving to Rensselaer in 1975.
She graduated from Chalmers High School with the class of 1937. She was employed for 15 years at the Jasper County Hospital where she was Director of Medical Records at the time of her retirement.
She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Rensselaer.
On March 24, 1944 she married Alfred William Rinker who passed away June 19, 1976. Her second marriage was in Rensselaer on April 30, 1983 to Eldo Meeker. He died on October 5, 1985.
Survivors include a son, Carl W. (Nancy) Rinker, Liberty, MO, two brothers, Melvin (Marge) Fisher, Fremont, MI, and Herbert R. (Lucille) Fisher, Brookston and one sister, Irene (Robert) Irons, Monon. She had 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
One son, 3 brothers and a sister preceded her in death.
Visitation will be at Jackson Funeral Chapel in Rensselaer from l0 a.m. until the service.
Funeral services will be Saturday, October 6, 2001 at 12:00 p.m. at the Jackson Funeral Chapel in Rensselaer with pastor Greig Crowder and Larty Klingler officiating
Interment will be in Bedford Cemetery.
