Roy E. Medley

Roy E. Medley, 81, Brookston, died Feb. 13, in Home Hospital, Lafayette. He had been a patient since Jan. 21 and had been in failing health for several years.

He was born July 11, 1910, to William and Katie Cole. Medley, near Delphi. He was married Feb. 16, 1945, to Lola Confer, in Rensselaer, and she survives.

In 1971, he moved from Lafayette, to Brookston and was a retired farmer, heavy equipment operator and diesel mechanic. He worked with farm machinery, also.

Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs Joan Swambarger, Logansport; five sons, Bill, St. Joseph, Mo.; Wayne, Burnettsville; Jerry, Holly, Mich.; Gary, Booneville, Miss.; and Rick, Brookston; 18 grandchildren; a brother, Bob, Clarks Hill; four sisters, Mrs Nellie Hinshaw, Monticello; Mrs Mildred Livengood, Bastrop, Texas; Mrs Helena Byers, West Point and Mrs Emmy Leeman, Logansport; 18 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Three sisters and five brothers preceded him in death.

The funeral was Saturday at Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with Bob Medley officiating.

Burial was in Chalmers Community Cemetery.
