Juanita Roark McVey

Juanita Roark McVey, 86, a former Brookston resident, died Sept. 3, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Delphi. She had been a resident of the Healthcare Center since August of 1994.

She was born in Tazewell, Tenn., June 8, 1912, to Ishmon and Mary Hassie Guy Roark. She was married Feb. 1, 1931, to Claude W. McVey Sr., in Tazewell, Tenn., and he died Jan. 4,1976.

She moved to Chalmers from Tazewell, Tenn., in 1953, and in March of 1975, she moved to Brookston.

She was a homemaker and worked for seven years at the Chalmers Cafe, as a cook.

She was a member of the Pittsburg Missionary Church.

She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge 376 in Brookston.

Surviving are two sons, Claude Jr. of Summerset, Ky. and Paul of Indianapolis; three daughters, Helen Stanifer of Lafayette; Mrs Harold Mabel Powell of Delphi and Nell Hart of Brookston 14 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter.

A sister and grandson are deceased.

Funeral services were at Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with Pastor Nord Zootman officiating

Burial was in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, West Lafayette.
