Vernie A. Sullivan McKnight, 81, 819 Wood St., Brookston, was pronounced dead on arrival Monday, April 1, at 8:57 p.m. in St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center, Lafayette.
She was
born March 9,1910, to Clarence and Catherine Newlon Sullivan, in Washington
County.
She was
married Feb. 25, 1928, to Elmer R. McKnight, in Salem. He died June 11,
1988.
She moved to Brookston from Salem in 1943. She was employed at the former Brookston Furniture factory. She also had been employed at the Travel Lodge Motel, West Lafayette.
She was a member of the Brookston Church of Christ
Surviving are one son, Herbert, Delphi; one daughter, Mrs Donald (Clarice) Yerk, R.1, Chalmers; one sister, Mrs. Hester Winslow, Salem; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Seven brothers and four sisters are deceased.
The funeral was today at 1 p.m. in Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with Bill Romans officiating.
Burial was in Brookston IOOF Cemetery.
