Alberta H. McCormick
Alberta H. McCormick, 89, Monon, died Tuesday, May 23, at Monticello Assisted Living and Healthcare.
She was born April 12, 1911, to Jacob and Mary Vogel Hemmer, in Reynolds. She was married Oct. 24, 1934, to William McCormick, in Reynolds. He died Aug. 19, 1962.
She was a homemaker and lived most of her life in White County. She worked as a cook at North White High School for several years and retired from Schumacher Electric in 1986.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Reynolds, and of the Altar & Rosary Sodality.
She was very active in the Democratic Party and in various clubs and organizations in White County.
She is survived by daughters, Annetta (Donald) Fairchild, Brookston; Ethel (Michael) Kelleher, Burnsville, Minn., Theresa (Dean) Perry of Crystal Lake, Mo., Dolores (Tom) Warner of North Aurora, Ill. and Carol (Jerry) Lapacek, Francesville; sons, William (Arlene) McCormick, Edmonds, Wash.; and Michael (Donna) McCormick, Buffalo; brothers, Richard Vogel, Roswell, N.M. and James Vogel of Los Angeles; 23 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren and a step-great-great grandchild.
A son, two sisters, four brothers, a grandson and a great grandson are deceased.
Funeral service was Monday in the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Reynolds, with the Rev. Richard Miller officiating. Kellogg Funeral Home, Monon, was in charge of the service.
Burial was in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Reynolds.
Memorials may be given to the St. Joseph Catholic Church or the American Heart or Cancer Associations.
