Jesse Lewis McCollum

Jesse Lewis McCollum, 84, 313 E. North St., died Thursday, March 25, 1999, in Murdock Manor, Lafayette.

He was born on July 31, 1914 in Wolcott to Lewis Frank and Grace Hanawalt McCollum.  He was married on Feb. 27, 1937 to Ruth Jarrett.  She survives.

He graduated from Wolcott High School in 1932.

He sold farm implements for BC Fowler, Wolcott, and sold equipment for Arts Way Manu facturing, Wolcott. He was also a farmer.

He was a member of the Wolcott Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and trustee.

He was a 50-year member of Wolcott Lodge 180 F&AM.

Surviving with his wife are two sons, Marvin of Wolcott and Jim of Bradenton, Fla.; a brother August of Noblesville; two sisters, Violet Cauble of Monticello and Velma Jean Hughes of Monon; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeralservices were Monday at theWolcott Baptist Churchwith the Rev David Vanaman officiating. Foster Funeral Home was in charge of the service.

Burial was in the Memory Gardens at Rensselaer.

Memorials may be made to the Wolcott Baptist Church.
