Rowland F. McCloud
Rowland F. McCloud, 88, of Monticello died Saturday, August 13, 2005 at White County memorial Hospital.
He was born November 27, 1916, in Liberty Township near Sitka to Otto and Clara Rex McCloud.
He married Helen L. Dulin on September 7, 1943 in Albuquerque, NM. She survives.
He and his wife had lived in the White/Carroll County area most of their lives.
He had worked as a foreman at the former RCA plant in Monticello, retiring in 1976 after 30 years of service.
He served in the U.S. Air Force in China during World War II.
He was a life member of the V.F.W. and American Legion Post of Monticello.
He was a member of the Oak Grove Christian Church in rural Carroll County and had served as deacon at the church.
He was a member of the 4 Seasons Round/Square Dance Club in Monticello and the Promenaders Round/Square Dance Club on [sic] Port Charlotte, FL.
He was also a member of the White County Twin Lakes Senior Citizens Club.
He was a family man, caring very much for all his family.
He was a good wood worker and could fix almost anything.
Other survivors include daughters Sharon (James) Haygood, Elaine (Clarence "Butch") Holmes, and Judy (David) Willoughby, all of Monticello; sisters Letha Swartz and Opal (Chuck) Alma, both of Monticello; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
A grandson, a sister, and a brother are deceased.
Funeral services were this morning at Miller-Roscka Funeral Home in Monticello with Pastor Don Haase, officiating.
Burial with full military rites was at the I.O.O.F. Riverview Cemetery near Monticello.
Memorials may be given to the Oak Grove Christian Church or to the Southern Care Hospice Program.
