Helen Marie Martz, 84, of Monticello, and formerly of Monon died at Twin Lakes Village Nursing Home in Monticello on Thursday, October 31, 2002.

She was born in Jasonville on December 11, 1917, to Clement and Helen Marie Egan Lacy. She married William Martz at Indianapolis on August 18, 1934. He died in 1967.

She was a graduate of St. Agnes Academy, Indianapolis. She was a real estate agent working for several years for Merrell's Real Estate Agency, Lafayette; and as a L.M. Berry sales representative for several years.

She grew up in Indianapolis and moved to Monon in 1960.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Reynolds.

Survivors include a daughter, Rosemary (Gary) Cooley of Monon and Helen Williams of Las Vegas, Nev.; a sister, Lee Schuman of Cameron Park, Calif.; seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

A son and two brothers are deceased.

Visitation was Sunday at Kellogg Funeral Home in Monon. Services were Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Reynolds with Monsignor Robert Sell officiating.

Burial was Monday in Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis.
