Leona June Martin, 78, Monon, died Thursday, Sept. 9, at her residence in Monon. She had been ill two years.

She was born June 30, 1921, to Orrin and Audrey Willett Clark, in Rossville, Ill. She was married April 29, 1939, to Charles "Cal" Martin in Hammond and he survives.

She was a graduate of Hammond Tech High School, Hammond

She was a homemaker and had resided in Monon for 12 years coming from Hebron.

She attended Buffalo Christian Church.

She was a member of the Monon Home Economics Club, Porter Memorial Hospital Guild of Valparaiso and the Eastern Star Lodge in Hebron.

She is survived by her husband; three sons, Charles W. of Buffalo; Clifford C. of Monon and Walter J. of Rufus, Oregon; two daughters, Donna C. of Monon and Leona of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; six grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and five stepgreat grandchildren. A brother is deceased.

Funeral services were Sunday at Kellogg Funeral Home, Monon, with Frank Hicks officiating.

Burial was m Locust Grove Cemetery, Williamsport. Memorials may be given to the Yakima Indians Christian Mission, White Swan, Wash.
