John E. Marion, 82, Rte.2, Monon, died at 6:15 a.m. on Monday, June 3, at his residence. He had been in ill health for the past five months.
He was
born April 10, 1909 in Jasper County, the son of Simeon and Aleatha Whiteman
Marion.
His marriage
was to Lova Funk on July 4, 1934 in Liberty Township.
A retired farmer, he had lived and farmed in Monon Township all his life. He was a charter member of the Buffalo Church of the Brethren and was a deacon at the church.
Surviving besides his wife are two daughters: Mrs Jack (Sue) Hughes, Monon and Mrs donald (Mary Lou) Hudson, Monticello and one son, John F. Marion, Lebanon. He had six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Two sisters, Ellen Ezra of Indianapolis and Violet Hirt of Monticello also survive. One brother preceded him in death.
Funeral services were Wednesday at Kellogg Funeral Home in Monon with Rev. George thomson officiating. Burial was in Buffalo Cemetery.
