Paul Malchow

Lt. Col. Paul H. Malchow, 71, of Francesville, died Monday, June 21, 2004 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette.

He was born December 13, 1932 in Francesville, the son of Harry F. and Marie O. Westphal Malchow. He married Judith G. Hawley on June 22, 1963, in South Bend. She survives

He was a 1952 graduate of Francesville High School. He served for eight years in the U. S. Navy during the Korean Conflict, sailing off on the USS Hollis and the USS Bottineau. He served 18 years in the Indiana Guard Reserve.

He was a farmer. He also worked as a security guard and bus driver at Indiana Beach for 26 years. He was a West Central School bus driver for 22 years. He was a Little League coach for 10 years.

He was a member of the Tippecanoe Christian Church and served as an Elder.

He was a member of the American Legion in Rensselaer, and the Navy Club, AMVETS, and the 40 & 8.

He enjoyed amateur figure and hockey skating.

Other survivors include a daughter, Lisa Malchow of Francesville; a son, Aaron Malchow of Francesville, and family members Jim & Michelle Reynolds of Monticello; Cheyenne and Bryanne of Monticello.

A sister, Gloria Malchow; a brother Glen Malchow; a nephew, Kevin Malchow; and nieces Glenda Malchow and Sabrina Bailey preceded him in death.

Funeral Services were Thursday at the Tippecanoe Christian Church with Ed Clark officiating. Burial was in Tippecanoe Cemetery. Querry-Ulbricht Funeral Home, Francesville, was in charge of services.
