Harold W. Luck
 

Harold W. Luck, 74, 414 W. 8th Street, Brookston, a lifetime resi dent of White County, Indiana, passed away at his home, Saturday, Dec. 2. The last year of his life was spent struggling with cancer.

Harold was a former state board member of the Indiana Farm Bureau and the Farm Bureau Insurance Companies. He served on the Executive Committee for both companies.

He was a past president of the White County Farm Bureau, Inc. and a past chairman of the board of the White County Farm Bureau Co-op.

Recently he was recognized as a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge.

After 44 years of farming, west of Brookston, Harold retired in 1989, and moved with his wife, Virginia, to Brookston, IN. He enjoyed his retirement, dividing his time among work with the Farm Bureau, golf and friends.

In 1944, Harold was married to Virginia Meyers. Together they had two sons, Larry and Ronald.

Harold joined the U.S. Navy in 1942. He commanded a landing craft in four invasions in Europe and Japan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence B. and Ada Guntrip Luck, and a sister, Mary Alice Robertson.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia, of Brookston and two sons, Larry B. of Los Alamos, NM and Ronald of Lafayette, IN. Other siblings are John V. Luck, Savan nah, GA and Mae Bailey, Dunedin, FL. Grandchildren include David L. of Albuquerque, NM, Jason P. of Las Cruces, NM, Jennifer R., of Austin, TX and Sabrina D. of Albuquerque, NM.

Funeral will be Thursday, at 11 a.m., at Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with Rev. William Henderson.

Burial will be at IOOF Cemetery, Brookston, with graveside military services by the Chalmers American Legion Post 268.

Memorials may be given to Chalmers Community Church or Visiting Nurse Hospice.
