Alyne B. Hicks Lucas
 

Alyne B. Hicks Lucas, 80, Chalmers, died Tuesday, May 19, in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette. She was admitted, Monday.

She was born Nov. 5, 1911, to George E. and Oma Belle Atkinson Hicks, in Chalmers. She was married Sept. 2, 1930, to Manden Lucas in Monticello, and he survives.

She graduated in 1930, from Chalmers High School.

She worked as. a seamstress at St. Elizabeth Hospital, and was retired.

She was a member of Chalmers Community Church and a 50 year member of the Women's Christian Fellowship of the church. She was a former pianist and sang in the church choir.

Other survivors are two daughters. Mrs Kenneth (Colleen) Young, Fowler and Mrs Stephen (Debra) Herget, Brookston; a son, Royce, Brookston; nine grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and a great-great grandson.  One son, two grandchildren and four sisters are deceased.

The funeral was today at Chalmers Community Church with the Rev. Loren Shuman officiating.  Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, was in charge of  the service.

Inurnment was at Chalmers Community Cemetery.
