George E. Logan

George E. Logan, 74, Francesville, died Sunday, Nov. 30, at 10:45 am. at his residence.

He was born in Jasper County, Nov. 16, 1923 to Thomas and Maude Culp Logan. He was married June 26, 1956, to Theresa Ann Tuberty in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kentland. She survives.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1943-1946.

He was a garment cutter for H.D. Lee Company in South Bend. He later owned and operated a farm in Jasper County. He was former owner of Logans Tavern in Francesville and worked for Case Implements at Francesville. He was also a salesman for Maintenance Products Inc. of Lowell.

He was a member of St. Frances Catholic Church of Francesville.

He was a member of American Legion Post No. 228 of Francesville, VFW Post No. 1728 of Winamac, Jasper County Voiture 1251 and 40 & 8 National Past Chef De Gare.

He is survived by . his wife; a daughter, Mrs Carl (Rita) Hammack of Algonquin, Ill.; two sisters, Mabel Vogt, Francesville and Dorothea Stotler, Winamac; three brothers, Foster of Portage, Orville of Brookston and Lloyd of Francesville; and two grandchildren.

A sister, three brothers and three daughters are deceased.

Funeral services were held today at 11 a.m. in St. Frances Solano Catholic Church, Francesville, with the Rev. Paul R. White officiating.

The Querry-Ulbricht Funeral Home, Francesville was in charge of  the arrangements.

Burial was in the Roseland Cemetery, Francesville.

Memorials may be given to the Jasper Co. Hospital Home Medical and Hospice.
