He was born June 20, 1937, in LaGrange, to Theodore and Iva Rogers Litke. He was married Nov. 18, 1962, to Rosemary Gorman at the Burnettsville Christian Church. She survives.
He lived for 38 years in Monticello, coming from Pulaski County. He graduated in
1955 from Pulaski High School and attended one year at Indiana State University.
He served in the U.S. Army.
He owned Jim's Plumbing and Heating for the past 20 years.
He was a member of Rural Youth, 4-H and played Santa Claus. He also was a blood donor and had donated 13 gallons.
He was a member and elder of the Burnettsville Christian Church, where he was a Sunday School teacher. He had been baptized at Tippecanoe Christian Church.
He loved the outdoors, including fishing and gardening. He also caned chairs and played basketball in the Memory Lane games.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Cynthia (Tim) McQuinn, Angela Litke and Rosetta (Scott) Rider, all of Monticello; and brothers, Fred Litke, Francesville and Phil Litke, Winamac. An infant brother is deceased.
Funeral service will be today at 10:30 a.m. in the Burnettsville Christian Church with the Rev. John Wright officiating. Miller-Roscka Funeral Home, Monticello, was in charge.
Burial will be in Davis Cemetery, Burnettsville with military rites performed by the Monticello American Legion.
Memorials may be given to the Burnettsville Christian Church or the Gideons. He
loved his Lord dearly.
