Francis L. Lindquist

Francis L. "Lindy" Lindquist, 81, Monticello, died Sunday, May 28, at his home.

He was born July 14, 1918, to Omer and Velma Meisenhelder Lindquist, in Piper City, Ill. He was married October 12, 1946, to Lois Bulington and she survives.

He attended Chatsworth High School and was an Army Air corps veteran of World War II, serving in England with the 8th Air Force 2nd Air Division 93rd Bomb Group.

He farmed all his life in White County.

He was a member of Pike Creek Church of the Brethren, where he was a deacon and a member of the dartball team. He enjoyed time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife; son, Leland (Wanita) Lindquist of Craigville and Jerry D. Lindquist of Monticello; daughters, Leota Veldhulzen of Delphi Donna (Steve) Black of Junction City, Kansas and Georgia Lindquist of Ossian; brother Marion (Mary) Lindquist of Chatsworth, Ill and eight grandchildren.

A brother, Russell and a sister, Bernice are deceased. Funeral service was Wednesday at Pike Creek Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Opal Reiff officiating. Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home was in charge.

Burial was in the Pike Creek Cemetery, Monticello.

Memorials may be given to the Pike Creek Church of the Brethren or to the Leukemia Foundation.
