Lucille Lear

Lucille Lear, 87, of Brookston, died Wednesday, October 8, 2003, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, in Lafayette. She had been in Heritage Healthcare Center since June.

She was born in Colfax on May 4, 1916. She married Harvey E. Lear at Lafayette on August 26, 1958. He is deceased.

She started as a nurses aide at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in 1955 and retired as Ward Secretary in 1980.

She was a member of the St. Elizabeth retiree's [sic] club.

She enjoyed driving around Brookston and interaction with others.

Survivors include a daughter, Lisa Lear of Brookston; brothers, Jerry (Ann) Lanum of Crawfordsville, Barton (June) Lanum of Lafayette and Jack (Beverly) Lanum of Frankfort; sisters, Lois Carlson of North Port, Fla., and Maxine Leathers of Durham, N.C.

Two sisters and one brother are deceased.

Funeral services were Monday, October 13, 2003, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Lafayette with Father Timothy Alkire officiating. Burial was in Brookston IOOF Cemetery.

Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
