David E. Lear, 63, of Monticello died Wednesday, October 18, 2000 in St. Elizabeth Health Care in Delphi. He had been ill three months.

He was born in Wolcott on November 17, 1936, to Verlie W. and Dora Ellen Towe Lear. He married Janice J. Lowe in Wolcott on June 16, 1957. She survives.

He had lived in White County all his life.

He was employed at Rose Acres Monon plant for 10 years. He had also worked at Buschman's Marathon in Monticello for 19 years.

He was a 30 year member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge 906 In Monticello.

He is survived by his wife; daughters. Darlene Broughton of Burnettsville and Rebecca Turner of Monticello; sons Darryl Lear of Missouri and Brian Lear of Monticello; a brother Max Lear of Monon and seven grandchildren.

Kellogg Funeral Home in Monon was in charge of arrangements. No funeral service was held.
