James Willis Lawson, 71, of Monticello, died Sunday, November 14, 2004 at his residence. He had been ill for one year.
He was born at Remington on October 20, 1933 to Harley and Geraldine Herring Lawson.
A long-time companion and partner in life, Sue Stansbury Craft, survives.
He was retired from Farm Bureau in Francesville where he worked as a fertilizer applicator.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.
He lived in White County area most of his life and attended the First Baptist Church in Francesville.
Survivors include sons Rob (Marlene) Lawson, Rick Lawson and Rex Lawson, all of Lafayette and Shea Craft of Monticello; daughters Regina (Raymond) Fitzsimons of Brookston and Rhonda (Brent) Andrzejewski of Indianapolis; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and his canine pal "Lady".
A brother, Dean Lawson, is deceased.
There was a direct cremation and no visitation.
Memorials, in lieu of flowers may be made to Hospice Care of Jasper County.
