Mary Evelyn Kiser, 71, of 2484 North U.S. Highway 35, Logansport, formerly of Monon, the grandmother of area residents, died Wednesday, June 24, at 11:40 am., in St Vincent hospital, Indianapolis.

She was born June 29, 1926, to Luther and Mary Elizabeth Rees Towe, in Kokomo. She was married April 30, 1944, to Dean F. Kiser in Wolcott and he survives.

She was employed at Logansport State hospital and retired in 1987 after 24 years of service.

She was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

She was a member of American Legion Post 60 Ladies Auxiliary and a life member of VFW Post 3790 Ladies Auxiliary.

Local survivors are grandchildren Joyce and Pat Conn, Monon, Curt Byroad, Monon and Dan byroad, Buffalo.

Two sister and two brothers are deceased.

Funeral services were Saturday in McCloskey-Hamilton-Gundrum Funeral Home, Logansport, with the Rev William Art Maloney officiating.

A VFW service was held at the funeral home.

Burial was in Ever-Rest Memorial Park Cemetery, Logansport.
