Rev. Irvin T. King, 84, of Lafayette, formerly of Boswell, died Tuesday, January 7, 2003, in St. Anthony's Health Care in Lafayette.
He was born June 24, 1919, in Jeffersonville; he graduated from Jeffersonville High School. He graduated from Georgetown College in Georgetown, Ky., and Southern Baptist Seminary in Louisville, Ky. He did his doctoral work at Indiana University.
He married Harriet Martin in Georgetown. She died December 6, 2002.
Rev. King ministered at the First Baptist Church in Monon in the 1960's and moved to Boswell where he was pastor at the Boswell United Methodist Church from 1974 to 1981. He ministered in Cambridge City and Quincey. He ministered at Pine Village United Methodist Church from 1985 to 1994.
He was a member of Pine Village Masonic Lodge, past member of the Boswell Rotary Club, and Boswell Senior Citizen Club.
Surviving is a son, David (Joy) King of Lake Forest, Calif.
