Phillip I. Kingery, 73, of Brookston died Sunday, December 31, 2001 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette. He had been in ill health since October 2001.
He was born on December 19, 1928 in Kewanna, to Arthur and Ida May Loman Kingery. He married lone Henderson in Delphi on November 13, 1948. She survives
He was a 1947 graduate of Cutler High School and served in the Indiana National Guard for two years.
He worked for 20 years for the Delphi School Corp. in custodial services retiring in 1991.
He was a former member of Cutler Presbyterian Church. He served as the scoutmaster for the Cutler Boy Scouts for several years.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and Purdue women's basketball.
Surviving with his wife are sons James A. Kingery of Brookston and Timothy (Darlene) Kingery of Delphi; daughters Peggy M. Ruckdeschel of Oxford and Debra (Jon) Gaul of Morgantown, W. VA; brothers William (Patricia) Kingery of Fulton and John Kingery of Las Vegas; sisters Dolly Rife of Fulton and Dorothy (Maurice) Mason of Brooklyn, IN; step-mother Lena Kingery of Las Vegas; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Two brothers and two sisters are deceased.
Services were Thursday, January 3, 2001 [sic] at Abbott Funeral Home, Delphi with Rev. Tim Stewart officiating.
Burial was at Bay Hill Cemetery, Cutler.
