Margaret M. Keefer, 84, Bailey Rd., Monticello, died Thursday, March 1, 2001 at White County Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Pembroke, Ontario, Canada on August 17, 1916, the daughter of Robert and Elsie Farrell Dunlop. She married Paul Keefer in East Chicago, Ill., on September 18, 1931. He died in 1992.

She lived in Monticello since 1969 and was the former owner and operator of Breezy Hill Bait Shop on the Big Monon.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church, where she was also a member of the Rosary Society.

She is survived by a son, Robert Keefer of Hammond; a daughter, Pat Johnson of Monticello; a sister, Edna (Dr. Clyde) Courtice of New Port Richey, Florida; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

A brother is deceased.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Wednesday at Our Lady of the Lakes Catbolic Church with Rev James Goodrum officiating.

Burial was in Bedford Cemetery. Voorhis Draper Funeral Home was in charge.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church.
