Fern M. Jordan

Fern M. Jordan, 87, of rural Francesville, died Tuesday, December 30, 2003 at Pulaski County Health Care Center in Winamac.

She was born at Headlee on June 5, 1916 to George Ray and Turrissie Rex Baker.

She married Alfred G. Jordan on April 25, 1935 in Buffalo. He died on December 31, 2003.

She was a member of the Paul's Chapel Church, Pulaski Memorial Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, Happy Homemakers Home Extension Club, the Genealogy Society and Democrat Women's Club.

She lived most or her life in rural Francesville and enjoyed gardening, growing flowers, church activities and genealogy research.

Survivors include daughters Joyce (Joseph) Cunningham of Greenfield, Ohio, Judy K. (Jacob) Huffman of Winamac; sons Stanley R (Myra) Jordan of Star City, James K. (Delilah) Jordan of Francesville, William C. (Ruth) Jordan of Peoria, Ill., Mark D. (Pamela) Jordan of Monticello and David N. (Kathi) Jordan of Winamac; 23 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren; sister Iona Haskins of Monticello and brothers Harold (Alice) Baker of Irving, Texas, Ora (Alberta) Baker of Medaryville, Charles LeRoy (Martha) Baker of Walton, Lester (Mary) Baker of Monon, Chester (Viola) Baker of Winamac and Alvin (Virginia) Baker of Logansport.

A daughter Janis Louise Jordan and brothers Grove Baker and Delmar Baker are deceased.

Funeral services were Sunday, January 4, 2004 at Frain Mortuary in Winamac with Dr. James Gabhart, officiating.

Burial was at McKinley Memorial Gardens in Winamac.
