Ralph D. Johns Sr., 88, formerly of R.4, Delphi, died June 27, in the Brethren Home at Flora, where he had been a resident for three years.

He was born Aug. 15, 1905, to Emerson William and Myrtle Irene Schock Johns, in Carroll County. He was married June 26, 1926, to Ethel C. Dillman, in Delphi, and she survives. She is a resident of the Brethren Home.

He attended Flora High School and lived all of his life in Carroll County. He and his wife celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary June 26.

He was a retired fanner.

Surviving with his wife are one son, Ralph D. "Don" Jr., R.4, Delphi; five daughters: Mrs Evan (Betty Jane) Lantz, R.4, Delphi; Mrs Nelson (Pearl) Sines, R.4, Delphi; Mrs Charles (Wilma) Wiles Lane, Tucson, Arizona; Mrs Jim (Delorise) Yates, R.4, Delphi and Mrs Richard (Marjorie) Strasser, Sebring, Fla.; one sister, Ruth M. Richardson, Pittsburg; 26 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson. One grandson is deceased.

The funeral was Wednesday, at Horn Funeral Home, Delphi, the Rev. Alvin Grumbling officiating.

Burial was in Yeoman Cemetery.
