Lorena D. "Trost" Johnson, 85, of Monon died Saturday, October 25, 2003, at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.
She was born at Monon on August 30, 1918 to Archie and Ruth L. Ogborn Brown. Her stepfather was Floyd J. Brown. She married John Eric "Hans" Trost, Sr., on April 23, 1939 in Monon. He died on January 20, 1967.
She graduated from Monon High School in 1937 and had lived in Monon all her life.
She was a secretary for Bakes Pontiac & Buick car dealership in Monticello from 1964 to 1975. She was also a homemaker.
She was a member of the Monon United Methodist Church and was a member of the former Monon Lodge Order of the Eastern Star, where she was Past Worthy Grand Matron.
Survivors include daughters Nancy Whisman of Granada Hills, Calif., and Carole (Glenn) Perry of Monon; son John Eric Trost, Jr. of Bellevue, Neb., sister June Jones of Monon; brothers Keith (Betty) Brown of Burlingame, Calif., Jack Brown of Estero, Fla., Bob (Thelma) Brown of Waidron, Ind., and Richard (Betty) Brown of Cape Coral, Fl.; eight grandchildren and five great-grand children.
One brother and one sister are deceased.
Services were on Tuesday at Kellogg Funeral Home in Monon with Rev. Matthew Pickut, officiating.
Burial was in Bedford Cemetery.
