Addie P. Roank Johnson, 91, formerly of Chalmers, died Friday, Sept. 6, at Tioga Pines Living Center, where she had resided since Oct. 9, 1989.  She had been ill for two weeks.

She was born Sept. 20, 1899, to Preston and Rutha Jane Whitaker Roark. in Tazwell, Tenn. She married Clint M. Johnson in Tazwell, and he died Dec. 25, 1942.

She lived for 39 years, in Chalmers, before moving to Tioga Pines Living Center in Monticello.
Prior to moving to Chalmers, she lived in Tazwell.

She worked at Green Gables Restaurant, Reynolds, in the kitchen. from 1952-1966.

Survivors include one half-sister, Mrs Ruby Green, Carey, Idaho; four granddaughters, Mrs Les (Phyllis) Condo and Patsy Kinsey, Monticello; Mrs Michael (Peggy) Lesley, Sierra Vista, Ariz. and Penny Karageorge, Rensselaer; two grandsons, Phillip Massengill, Buffalo and Paul Massengill, Chalmers; 10 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.

The funeral was Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with the Rev Loren Schuman officiating.

Burial was in IOOF Cemetery, Brookston.
