Bayleigh Randa Jensen, 8, of Brookston, died Saturday, March 5. 2005, in Vernon Manor Children's Home in Wabash. She was diagnosed last December with a rare childhood illness.

She was born on July 2, 1996 to Scott A. and Lucretia D. Hurst Jensen in Lafayette Home Hospital. They survive.

She loved listening to music, p1aying make believe and hearing stories, especially when read by her brother and sister. Her "special" red hair, bubbly personality and infectious smile touched everyone she met.

Everyone quickly became her friend.

Other survivors include siblings, Austin Lee and Brynleigh Dawn Jensen: a "specia1 Aunt Mandy" Miranda Hurst; maternal grandparents, Lucinda Hardison of Lafayette and Chuck DeWitt of Plymouth; paternal grandparents, Susan Jensen of Indianapolis and Michael Jensen, also of Indianapolis; great-grandparents Jim and Jean Hardilson, Edgar DeWitt Harry and Helen Elliott and Bud and Kay Jensen; and three uncles, Andy and Mitch DeWitt and Steve Jensen.

Funeral services were at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Hutchison officiating.
