She was born in Upland, IN on November 16, 1905 to Henry John and Nellie Ballinger Henning. She married Henry Ward James on September 24. 1923. He died March 17, 1983.

She attended schools in Jonesboro.

She had lived in Monticello since 1976, coming from Plymouth.

She is survived by sons, Joseph James of Rochester and James (Shirley) James of Kewanna; daughters Delores Sollars of Monticello, Martha Steele of Monon, Mrs. Marion (Mildred) Miller of Argos, and Mrs. Aaron (Lulu) Ousley of Kewanna; 19 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great grandchildren.

Sons Robert James, Larry James and Jack James; daughter Margie James; two great-grandchildren; a brother and two sisters are deceased.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday in Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home with Rev. Brian Green officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

Burial will be in the Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
