Beatrice E. Munsterman Hunt

Beatrice E. Munsterman Hunt, 80, 611 Cherrydale Dr., Monticello, died Monday, October 1, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette.

She was born August 8, 1921, to Bert Nathan and Effie Maude Combs Morris, in Jasper County. Her first marriage was to LeRoy "Hap" Munsterman, who is deceased. Her second marriage was to Charles Hunt, who is also deceased.

She lived in Monticello for five years after moving from Largo, Florida. She lived in Monon most of her life and in Indianapolis for some time.

She and her husband farmed for many years. She owned and operated a beauty shop in Monon.

She was active in the Republican Party and the Republican women of White County.

She worked at the Commerce and Transportation Department in Indianapolis and was instrumental in bringing small industry to White County in the 1960s and 70s. She was secretary to Lt. Gov. Robert Orr for three years.

She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Reynolds.

Surviving are sisters Bernice I. Reynolds of Monticello and Barbara (Larry) Bittner of Indianapolis; a brother Bill W. Morris, Monon and several nieces and nephews.

A sister, Gertrude Gudeman is deceased.

Services were conducted Thursday, October 4, at 11 a.m. in the Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home, Monticello, with the Rev. William Parsons officiating.

Burial was in the Lutheran Cemetery, Reynolds.

Memorials may be given to St. James Lutheran Church.
