Inese Lea Huber, 47, of 104 W. First St., Brookston, died Thursday, May 11, at 3:10 a.m. at Home Hospital. She had been a patient there since Monday, May 8, and in failing health since last fall.
She was born in Shell Lake, Wisconsin on July 29. 1947 and came to Lafayette as a child. After living in Kentucky for two years she returned to Lafayette in 1968.
She was a graduate of Lafayette Jeff High School. She was employed at Home Hospital as a switch board operator for 18 years prior to that she had also worked at Lafayette Bank and Trust in the accounting department.
She was married to Ronald Huber on January 25, 1969 and he died Sept. 9, 1989.
She was a member of the Tippecanoe County Historical Society and had participated in The Feast of The Hunter's Moon since 1969, and a member of Baptist Bible Church at Chalmers.
Mrs. Huber was a former member of National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association and was state runner-up in the women's state muzzle loading rifle shoot in 1979.
She is survived by a daughter Heather Huber at home, a son Tyson Huber at home, her mother Lola Miles of Lafayette, and 2 nephews and 2 nieces.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 13 in the Hahn Chapel, Rev. Charles Fluckey officiated with interment in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. Hahn Funeral Home, Lafayette, was in charge of the services.
