Blanton Howard

Blanton Howard, 78, of Monon died Sunday, November 16, 2003 at White County Memorial Hospital. He had been ill for 25 years.

He was born at Gauge, Ky., on August 21, 1925 the son of Harrison and Sarah Ann Trusty Howard

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict.

He was a construction worker for several years.

He was a member of Emmanuel First Love Baptist Church in Medaryville.

Since 1988, he had lived in the Monon and Lafayette area, coming from Salyersville, KY.

He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW.

Survivors include a daughter, Peggy Howard of Redding, Calif., sons Bobby Howard and Harold Howard, both of Redding, Calif. and Paul Howard of Denver, Colo., a brother Paul (Barbara) Howard of Monon; and eight grandchildren.

A sister and four brothers are deceased.

Graveside services were held Tuesday at Chapel Cemetery near Monon with Pastor Herman Stone and Rev. Willie Prater officiating. Kellogg Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
