Daniel P. 'Boone' Holladay

Daniel P. "Boone" Holladay, 81, Chalmers died Friday, April 9, in Tioga Pines Living Center, Monticello, where he had been a patient since January 5. He had been in failing health the last four months.

He was born Feb. 27, 1912, to William and Rebecca Coffman Holladay, in Headlee. He was mar ried to Dolores "Dee" Wilson, April 22, 1933 in Monticello. She resides in Tioga Pines Living Center.

He lived the last 60 years in Chalmers. He was a Golden Gloves boxer at Lafayette, during the 1930s.

He was a bulk truck driver for the former Sprout & Davis Trucking Co and Standard Oil Co. at Brookston. He retired from Purdue, in 1973, where he worked in the agronomy laboratory and library.

He was member of the former Chalmers Baptist Church and a 53-year member of the Lafayette
Eagles Lodge No. 347.

Surviving are two daughters; Mrs Chuck (Shirley) Bossung, Chalmers and Mrs Robert (Sharon) Lawson, Hoffman Estates, Ill.; a son, Cyril, Lafayette; a sister, Zelda Danner, Hoffman Estates, Ill.; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  Two brothers and four sisters are deceased.

The funeral was Monday in Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston.

Burial was in Chalmers Community Cemetery.
