Vaynetta Grace (Matthews) Holeman, 83, a former Reynolds resident, died Thursday, Jan. 13, at Monticello Assisted Living and Healthcare Center. She had resided at the center for several years.

She was born May 23, 1916, to Frank and Myrtle Mason Matthews, in Wayne County, Ill. She was married Aug. 28, 1938, to Carlyn D. "Shorty" Holeman at Wolcott, and he died March 1, 1988.

She was a homemaker and a member of Reynolds Christian Church.

She is survived by daughters, Mrs Gerald "Margene" Woodall and Mrs Gary "Sharon" Nichols, both of Indianapolis; sons Carl (Pat) Holeman of Reynolds, Dale Holeman, of Frankfort arid Jim (Lisa) Holeman of Brookston; brothers, Cecil Matthews of Burnettsville and Vaughn Matthews of Buffalo; a half-brother, Virgil Matthews of Battle Ground; nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

An infant daughter is deceased.

Funeral services were Sunday at the Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston.

Burial was in Chalmers Community Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the Frontier Dollars for Scholars or the American Diabetes Association.
