CARLYN 'SHORTY' HOLEMAN

Carlyn D. "Shorty" Holeman, 72, Reynolds, died at 3:55 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, in Monticello Community Healthcare Center, where he was admitted Feb. 11. He had been in poor health for three years.

He was born in Lafayette, June 21, 1915, to Orville and Myrtle Lewis Holeman. His marriage was to Vaynetta Grace Matthews, Aug. 28, 1938, in Wolcott. She survives.

He was a 1935 graduate of Reynolds High School. He was a painting contractor and custodian at Frontier Middle School for 10 years, retiring in August 1983.

He was a member of the Reynolds Christian Church.

Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Mrs Gerald (Margene) Woodall, Indianapolis and Mrs Gary (Sharon) Nichols, Lafayette; three sons, Carl, Reynolds; Dale, Frankfort and Jim, Brookston; two sisters, Mrs Fred (Mildred) Mower, Monticello and Mrs Robert (Arlene) Koebeke, Brookston; nine grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. One
brother is deceased.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the Hartzler Funeral Home at Brookston with Dean Tanner and the Rev Loren Shwnan officiating. Friends may call today from 5 to 9 p.m. in the funeral home.

Burial will be in Chalmers Community Cemetery.
