Betty Monnett Holeman, 65, formerly of Chalmers, died Tuesday, Oct. 1, at Murdock Park, Lafayette, where she had been a patient for the last seven years. She was in failing health for the last year.
She was born Aug. 10, 1926, to lay and Mable Mullendore Monnett, in Delphi. She was married Sept. 16, 1950, to Leonard "Bud" Holeman in Reynolds. He died Aug. 15, 1979.
She lived in Chalmers for 35 years, before moving to the nursing home.
She graduated from Brookston High School in 1944, and was a waitress.
She was a member of Chalmers Community Church.
Survivors include two daughters: Mrs Cathy Newman, Lafayette and Mrs Tina Coffman, Chalmers; three sisters, Mrs. Cleora Resler, Monticello; Mrs Nancy Patrick, Hammond and Mary Monnett, Francesville; three brothers, Jerry R. Monnett, England, United Kingdom, Gerald D. Monnett, Francesville and James L: Monnett, Valparaiso.
The funeral was at Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, on Saturday, with the Rev. Loren Shuman officiating.
Burial was in Chalmers Comrnunity Cemetery.
