Lena Marie "Honey" Hintzman, 93, of Reynolds, died Saturday, August 3, 2002, at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, after being involved in an auto accident.
She was born in Reynolds on February 8, 1909, to Charles and Emma Hagen Buss. She married Frederick H. Hintzman at St. James Lutheran Church in Reynolds on May 30, 1937. He died August 3, 2002.
She lived in the Reynolds community all of her life. She graduated from St. James Lutheran Day School, and Reynolds High School.
She worked at her brother's hardware store, Buss Hardware Store, in Monticello, from the 1930's until the 1950's. After it was sold to ACE hardware, she worked there until the 1960's.
She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, where she was a Sunday school and Bible School teacher, and sang in the choir. She was also a member of the Women's Missionary League and a Walther (youth group) leader, both of St. James Lutheran Church. She loved the outdoors.
Survivors include sons, Charles A. (Kathleen) Hintzmam of West Lafayette and Frederick H. Jr. (Lois) Hintzman of Orlando, FL; four grandsons; and two great-granddaughters.
Three brothers and five sisters are deceased.
Funeral services were August 8th, at St. James Lutheran Church with Rev. Daniel May and Rev. Charles Blakey officiating. Miller-Roscka Funeral Home was in charge of the service.
Burial was in St. James Lutheran Cemetery, Reynolds.
