Esther (Carter) Hildebrandt, 80, of Brookston, died Tuesday, December 2, 2003 at Lafayette Home Hospital.

She was born at White County on April 11, 1923. She married Robert A. Hildebrandt at Monticello on June 19, 1958. He died in 1999.

She was a 1940 graduate of Buffalo High School and a 1944 graduate of Manchester College.

She taught English and mathematics at Brookston Junior/Senior High School from 1944 — 1952. She was librarian for the Monticello and Twin Lakes School System from 1952-1964.

She was a member of the Brookston Federated Church.

Survivors include a sister, Rose (Kenneth) Graham of Butler and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial services were Monday at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home in Brookston with Rev. Dr. Lelan McReynolds officiating.
