Lorene F. "Rene" Edwards Hicks, 71, R.1, Monticello, and a former resident of Chalmers, died Saturday, May 16, in St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette.

She was born July 21, 1920, in Lafayette. She was married Dec. 23, 1945, to Leslie "Abe" Hicks, in Lafayette, and he died Jan. 22, 1990.

She was retired from the RCA Plant, in Monticello, where she had worked for 17 years.

Surviving are two sons; Leslie Hicks, Jr., Monticello and James Hicks, Chalmers; two daughters; Mrs Bruce Glass, Oklahoma City, OK. and Mrs Richard Parker, Monticello; three sisters, Ruby Reynolds, Indianapolis; Lorretta McFarland, Phoenix, AZ. and Elizabeth Wetli, Fowler and two brothers, George Edwards and Quentin Edwards, both of Lafayette. Twelve grandchildren and a great granddaughter, also survive. A brother preceded her in death.

Funeral services were Wednesday in Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with Rev. Loren Schuman officiating.

Interment was in Brookston IOOF Cemetery.
