Zclina E. "Sammy" Morehouse Hess, 103, Lafayette, died Tuesday, Dec. 10, at Heritage Health Care, West Lafayette.

She was born Nov. 17, 1888, to Silas A. and Mary M. Rawles Morehouse, in Lafayette.

She attended Hebron School in Lafayette and graduated from Lafayette Business College.

She was a secretary for Lafayette Painters and Decorators, for several years.. She moved to Dallas, Texas, and was an occupational therapist at the Veterans Administration Hospital, there.

In 1965, she returned to Lafayette, and had lived in the Pythian Home. She had been at Heritage Health Care since October 1984.

She was a former 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter, Lafayette.

Survivors include two nieces; Mrs Kathryn Harmon, Brookaton and Mrs Ralph (Peggy) Klaverenga, Battle Ground; and three nephews, Alan Morehouse, West Lafayette, John P. Erickson, R.2, Brookston and Morris H. Erickson, West Lafayette. Four brothers and five sisters are deceased.

The body will be cremated.

A memorial service will be today at 2 p.m. in Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with Rev Ralph G. Smith officiating.

Inurnment will be at Grand View Cemetery, West Lafayette.
