Ralph D. Hensler, 78, of Remington, died Monday, Feb. 7, at Home Hospital, Lafayette.
He was born Aug. 24, 1921, to Christian A. and Ethel Hackley Hensler, in Remington. He was married Dec. 20, 1941, to Vera Hancock. She died Nov. 22, 1965. He then married Theresa Sansone Beuerman, July 29, 1967 and she survives.
He graduated from Remington High School in 1939 and was a lifelong resident of Remington.
He was a farmer and a member of the First Christian Church of Remington.
He enjoyed Belgian horses, which he would team for Plow Days with the Plow Gang in the Remington area, collecting and repairing furniture and playing euchre.
Surviving with his wife are four sons, Don (Janet) Hensler and Ron (Lana) Hensler, both of Remington, Roy (Angie) Beuerman, Brookston and Brian (Kathy) Beuerman of North Fort Myers, Florida; four daughters, Patty (Ray) Smith, Remington; Connie (Larry) Pampel, Monticello; Barbara Voss, West Lafayette and Kathy (Kurt) Keller, Chalmers; a brother, Earl Hensler, Rensselaer; a sister, Lucille Schembs, Remington; 23 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
A sister, Opal Stitz, a brother, Glen Hensler, and two grandchildren are deceased.
Funeral services were Thursday at Stitz Funeral Home, Remington, with Pastor Dean Cooper officiating.
Burial was in Remington Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the charity of the donor's choice.
