Winona "Happy" Heimlich

Winona "Happy" Heimlich, 86, of Monticello, died Monday, February 5, 2001 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette.

She was born in Reynolds on February 1, 1915 to Albert and Erma Lange Westfall. She married John C. "Clemmy" Heimlich in Reynolds on July 22, 1949. He died September 30, 1983.

She was a 1931 graduate of Reynolds High School and also graduated from Lafayette Business College.

She had lived in Reynolds almost all of her life. She was a homemaker.

She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Reynolds where she was active in the Ladies Aid and the Lutheran Women's Mission League.

She was also a member of the Honey Creek Extension Homemakers Club.

She is survived by a son, John C. (Barbara) Heimlich, Jr. of Reynolds: a daughter, Jane (Dan) Klinkhammer of Battle Ground; stepdaughters, Barbara (Virgil) Seymour of Mission, TX and Phyllis (Arthur) Smith of Ossian; sister, Ora Pitiman of Valparaiso; brother, Ross Westfall, of Monticello: grandchildren, Jeff Klinkhammer of Lafayette, Jennifer Klinkhammer of Indianapolis, Bryan (Gretchen) Heimlich of Monon and Michael (Heidi) Heimlich of Ballwin, MO and several stepgrandchildren.

Two brothers and two sisters are deceased

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home in Monticello and one hour, prior to services Thursday at the church. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in St. James Lutheran Church, Reynolds with the Rev. Stephen Koenig officiating.

Burial will be in the Lutheran cemetery, Reynolds.

Memorials may be made to the St. James Lutheran Childcare Ministry or to the St. James Lutheran Church.
