Francis J. Hatke, 63, Brookston, died at 3:43 a.m. Thursday, October 22, 1998 at his residence.
He was born March 29, 1935, in Lafayette, to Frank and Luetta Kochert Hatke. He married Mildred Brunner in Danville on July 2, 1953.
He attended St. Boniface Catholic School and Jefferson High School in Lafayette.
He had lived in the White County area since 1973, moving from Lafayette.
He was a self-employed carpenter.
He also mastered the art of flying small four-seater planes in the 1960s.
He is survived by his mother, Luetta Hatke of Lafayette; his wife; three sons, Frank and Darryl of Lafayette and Robert of Colorado Springs, Colorado; four daughters; Sara Rael of Los Lunas, New Mexico, Marsha Sigo of Fulton, Melissa Siga of West Lafayette, and Jo Ann Miller of Lafayette; four sisters, Ruth Hicks of Lafayette and Adeline Hasser, Mildred Schluttenhofer and Arlene Budreau, all of Earl Park; 20 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were Tuesday at Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home, with the Rev. James Hayes officiating.
