Thelma J. Haskins
Thelma J. Haskins, 72, of Monticello and formerly of Monon, died Friday, November 25, 2005, at White County Memorial Hospital.
She was born August 9, 1933, in Medaryville to Wilbur L. and Harriet I. (Hansell) Smith.
She married Francis N. Haskins on March 9, 1993 in South Carolina. He died January 27, 2003.
She retired after working at RCA in Monticello and was also a homemaker.
She was a 1951 graduate of Monon High School and lived in the Monon community most of her life.
She was a member of the Monon United Methodist Church, Eagles Lodge #2788 in Monon and the American Legion and VFW in Monticello.
Survivors include a son, Richard (Debbie) Woodward, of Oxford; daughters Vikki (Scott) Stearns, of Kokomo; Connie (Dave) Kersey, of Idaville; and Kimberly Baker of Monticello; a sister Kathryn (Bill) Cochran, of Portage; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
One brother and one sister are deceased.
Funeral services were Monday at Kellogg Funeral Home in Monon with Rev. Mathew Pickut officiating.
Cremation followed the service with burial at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Monon Food Pantry or the Monon United Methodist Church.
