ISAAC E. HARTMAN

Isaac E. "Dick" Hartman, 91, died at 6 a.m. Monday, March 23, in Home Hospital, Lafayette. He had been in the hospital since March 18. He lived at R.2, Brookston.

Born Oct. 21, 1895, near Lafayette in Tippecanoe County, he was a life resident of the area except from 1940 to 1960, when he worked for Allison Engines and lived in Indianapolis. During World War I, he served in the Army.

Mr Hartman was married to Gladys A Watkins, Oct. 5, 1917, in Lafayette. She died April 16, 1982.

He was a former member of Liberty Chapel Church and Eagles Lodge in Lafayette. He was a member of American Legion Post 75 of Delphi and World War I Veterans Association.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs Gilbert (Mary) Shaw, Brookston; Mrs Charles (June) Rosier of San Diego, California
and Mrs William (Wanda) Beile of Valparaiso; and a sister, Mrs Viola Stanfield of Lafayette.

Services were in the Hippensteel Chapel, Wednesday at 1 p.m., with Pastor David Boehning officiating. Interment was in Liberty Chapel Cemetery with graveside rites by Delphi American Legion Post 75.

Surviving are 17 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a daughter, Laura Haas.
