Gordon E. Hare, 68, of Monticello died Monday, October 25, 1999 in White County Memorial Hospital.
He was born September 19, 1931 in Logansport, IN the son of Elbert and Hazel Morgan Hare.
He had been a resident of Monticello Healthcare Center since September 1997. Before moving into the center, he lived in Wolcott. He had been in failing health for the past several years.
During his younger day, Gordon attended Pike Creek Church of the Brethren and Pious Chapel. He taught Sunday School at Pious Chapel for a period of time. He was a member of Teamsters Local #710.
His first marriage was May 7, 1949 in Spencer, IN to Alice Jay. They were divorced. He then married Vivian Satchwell in December 1974. She died in the summer of 1978.
He then married Cathy Dennison on February 5, 1980. They were later divorced.
Survivors include three sons; Victor Hare, Fulton, MD; Anthony "Tony" & Linda Hare, Peru, IN; Karl A. & Jeanne Hare of Monon, IN; two daughters, Kathleen "Kathy" & Gene Kay Price, Fort Wayne, IN and Victoria Hare, Lake Village, IN.
Also surviving are an adopted son Jerry & Misty Hare, twin sisters, Virginia Quade and Barbara Murray of Logansport, his former wife, Alice Hare of Monticello and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at the Miller-Roscka Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 28th with Pastor Jason Metzinger officiating. Burial will be in the Osborne Cemetery in Jasper County.
Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. on Wednesday and after 8 A.M. Thursday at the Miller-Roscka Funeral Home East of Monticello.
