Anthony L. "Tony" Hare

Anthony L. "Tony" Hare, 51, of Peru died Friday, October 8,2004 at Howard Regional Health System in Kokomo.

He was born at Logansport on July 21, 1953, the son of Gordon and Alice (Jay) Hare. He married Linda Chilcutt at Oakdale Baptist Church in Peru on November 30, 1994.

He graduated from North White High School and Ball State University.

He was a photographer for the Peru Daily Tribune.

He was a member of the Church of the Brethren.

He was a member of the National Press Photographer's [sic] Association and the Indiana Press Photographer's [sic] Association.

He was Outstanding Pbotographer of the Year and President of the National Press Photographer's [sic] Student Association.

Other survivors include his mother, Alice Hare of Monticello; step-sons, Dennis (Diane) Orpurt of Denver and Jay (Mandy) Smallwood of Peru; step-daughters Kimberly (Brad) Fortney of Denver and Lori (Jamie) Purciful of Kokomo, brothers Victor Hare and companion Carol Carey of Fulton, MD, and Karl (Jeanne) Hare of Rensselaer Sister Kathleen (Gene) Price of Fort Wayne; grandchildren Chadd and Nathan Pattison, Kris Fortney and Audrey and Macy Purciful; one great-grand daughter; two nieces and three nephews.

Funeral services were Monday at the Peru Church of the Brethren with Rev. Marvin Schwartz officiating. Burial was in Osborne Cemetery in Jasper County. Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home in Peru was in charge of the services.
