Bland Joseph Hardacre, 88, a former resident of Brookston, died April 3, in St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center, Lafayette.

He was born Dec. 22, 1901, at Ash Grove in Tippecanoe County. He was a former resident of Detroit, Michigan.

He was married Nov. 17, 1926, to Marjorie Alice Fisher, in Detroit. She survives. They had lived m Brookston, from 1972 until 1987, then they moved to St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center in Delphi.

Mr Hardacre and his wife owned and operated the Hardacre Cleaning, Tailoring and Dry Cleaning Co. in Detroit for 36 years.

Mr Hardacre served in the Green Thumb program for the town of Brookston, after moving here.

He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church at Reynolds. He was past president of the Frontier Senior Citizens and a member of the Twin Lakes Senior Citizens.

Services were Saturday, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Reynolds with Father Robert Fosselman officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery. Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, was in charge of the services.
