Ruth Hanaway, 67, of Delphi, died Friday, September 10, 2004 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lafayette.
She had been a patient there for one day and died unexpectedly.
She was born April 16, 1937 in Battle Ground to Robert and B. Marie Wacker Morgan. Her marriage was to Carl T. "Pete" Hanaway on June 11, 1955 in Battle Ground. He survives.
She was a homemaker and was a volunteer receptionist at the Carroll County YMCA in Flora.
She graduated from Battle Ground High School in 1955. She was a member of the Delphi Community Church of God, currently the secretary/treasurer for the church, a former Sunday school teacher and belonged to the Women's Fellowship of the church. Her hobbies were flower gardening and bird watching.
Survivors in addition to her husband included [sic] two daughters, Carolyn Sue Hanaway of Idaville and Cindy (Greg) Gardiner of Redwood City, Calif.; two sons, Ed (Melody) Hanaway of Walton and Carl T. Jr., "C.T." (Mary) Hanaway of Lafayette; a brother Robert (Linda) Morgan of Battle Ground, three sisters, Norma (Cass) Sterrett of Battle Ground, Helen (David) Hutton of Mission Hills, Calif. and Donna (Roger) Fowler of Indianapolis, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were today at Abbott Funeral Home in Delphi with Rev. Virgil Moss officiating. Burial will be in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens in West Lafayette.
